Problem

Often enough, busy working parents may find that they struggle to garner an appropriate amount of time in the morning to pack their children(s) lunch each weekday. To add another layer, it can be even harder to make sure those meals are nutritionally sound.

The Solution

The main goal is simple. Provide delicious and nutritious lunch boxes to your door for school children to enjoy.

LunchMunch will accomplish this by:

  • Simplify the ordering process to reduce information overload

  • Order customization

  • Manage weekly delivery schedule

"We provide delicious, fresh, packaged lunch boxes for
school children to enjoy. We recognize the hectic lifestyle of
a working parent, so let us handle this task."

Pitch

Strategy

Understanding the target audience

Since LunchMunch will cater to parents who hold
full-time positions, I chose a small sample group of professionals to reference such as
business owners, healthcare professionals, and night shift workers. The site will also serve a fairly urban community (Seattle Metro Area) with an average age of 35 years old.

Client Needs

The website needs to enable the user to:

  • Appear light, fun, and playful

  • Explain the ordering process for new account holders

Competitive Analysis

Competing brands that offer kid's food delivery services are:

One main detail I noticed while researching these companies was the lack of customization. After reading an article from Harvard, studies show that picky eating starts early, between the ages of 4-9. It's very important to introduce kids to new foods, while also not forcing them to do so either. By having the option to customize the entire lunch box, you are able to make sure your kids are eating a balanced meal that best serves them.

Design Process

Wireframes

After mapping the structure of the website, I went through some revisions that will be reflected on the final prototype. Some tweaks I made included scrapping the image carousel on the homepage and adding more sign-up/log-in options (sign in with appleID or google) screens.
